 My English Journey

Let me introduce myself first. My name is Ardia Rechrista, you can call me Ardia. I’m originally from Purwodadi a.k.a swike city🤣. I'm a college student at UKSW, majoring in English Education.

In my first blog I will tell you about my “English and me” journey. Maybe it will start with a question ‘Who introduced me to English?’ and ‘What did I feel when I was introduced to English?

‘. So this is the answer.

It started when I was in elementary school at my age around 7 years old. For your information, my elementary school didn’t have an English teacher. Because of that, my mother is looking for me a private English teacher. When my mother finds the teacher (if I'm not wrong, the teacher’s name is Mr Ahmad), I expect that the teacher will be fun, humble, friendly and something happy. Unfortunately, little Ardia doesn’t get what she expected (I’m sorry Mr Ahmad if you read it). The first time Mr Ahmad and I met, he was so quiet. I think he is an introvert, he really tries to have fun learning. He started to teach me with his own song, but for little Ardia it’s being more awkward and weird. I felt uncomfortable, I  feel I was like…..

When the meeting was already over, I protested to my mom, but my mom forced me to keep with Mr Ahmad. Long story short, in every meeting I always cried and locked my room until my mom surrendered and ended the private course. YEAYYY I’M THE WINNER.


Time flies,

I went to junior high school. I like to watch a Hollywood movie and listen to a West song but I don't know the meaning if I don't read the subtitle, therefore i start to regret ‘why i don't continue my english course, if i still continue maybe it will be more easy’  thats why regret always comes late.

Day by day, I feel like English is being more important in my life furthermore it's a international languange. Another side, I have a foreign family but I can't talk a lot with them and I also have a dream to traveling abroad, but I don't know English well. So I started to learn English so hard and joined a course without looking at the teacher’s personality /hehehe. I got the best score in my English lessons at junior school until my senior year, and my teacher always appreciated me. It makes me feel so satisfied and I'm being more excited about all English things. In fact, I downloaded OMEGLE and snapchat to improve my speaking skills by talking and chatting with foreign people, even though my grammar is bad till right now🙈. But I enjoyed with my English process, so to know it more I decided to take English education for my majoring, and also i have a dream to be a teacher every kids dreaming about.


HUfttttt… that’s all how English and me connecting. I’m sorry if it’s too long and i'm sorry too to Mr Ahmad for hurting your feelings. Thank you for reading this blog, God bless you all. <3<3<3
